Christ the King joined the Family School Partnerships Cluster in 2015. The Family School Partnership initiative came from Catholic Education Melbourne and its aim is to support schools to build and strengthen links with families and the local community to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
The key focus areas include:
- Enable and enhance the capacity of families to be engaged in learning.
- Enable and strengthen school-community/business partnerships to maximise learning opportunities and outcomes and to extend schools.
Student Led Learning Walks
In keeping with the belief that parents are the first and continuing educators of their children, the school has undertaken different ways of engaging the wider parent group. This has been done through Learning Expos, Community Conversations and Student Led Learning Walks.
