Masters of Play Therapy
I am passionate about working with children and enabling them to reach their full potential and assisting them to develop resilience, self-esteem and a sense of self through the therapeutic powers of play. I support children to work through and heal from difficult experiences. Play is the natural language of children and through play children express and explore their emotions and behaviours. I understand that each child’s journey is unique and that children are best supported when their parents and carers are included in the therapeutic process in association with their school and other professionals involved.
I have been involved in helping individuals and families to fulfill their potential within various roles both in Australia and England, including positions in schools and hospitals. I have a Master’s in Child Play Therapy and a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Deakin University. I am trained in Humanistic Play Therapy (one-on-one), Filial Therapy (family) and ‘Learn to Play’ which helps children to develop their play ability. I use these evidence-based therapies to effectively support children and their families to address social-emotional difficulties and strengthen family relationships.
It is a privilege and a pleasure to be working at Christ the King and to be enabling children to become the best version of themselves that they can be. I enjoy working collaboratively with the school staff for the best interest of the children and providing them the opportunity to develop their inner strength through play.
