All grades at Christ the King Primary attend 60 minute Science lessons each week.
The Science program is based on Primary Connections and is divided into four key areas: Chemical Science, Physical Science, Biological Science and Earth and Space. With a strong inquiry approach to Science, students are encouraged to pose and solve questions and to observe and record their understanding. Students have the opportunities to design and set up a range of controlled experiments that provide hands on learning. The Science curriculum supports students to develop their scientific knowledge, understandings and skills to make informed decisions about local, national and global issues.
The Science room is very fortunate to house two animals, a Short-Neck turtle and a Bearded Dragon. The students learn the responsibility of caring for animals and interact with them on a regular basis.
